Invasion from Planet Wrestopia!

Myself and Matthew Entin, my co-writer on Comic Jumper and Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude, recently finished our first comic book. If you'd like to see a story summary and comic script for Invasion from Planet Wrestletopia, shoot me an email at ed (at) egkinteractive.com

Note: You can scroll down to see some cool artwork by Portland-based comic book artist Benjamin Dewey.

High Concept:
Invasion from Planet Wrestletopia follows the trials and travails of professional wrestler "Rock n' Roll" Rory Landell, Earth's self-proclaimed "Galactic Champion" whose idle boasting in front of a T.V. camera is intercepted by a race of aliens for whom wrestling is not just real, but a way of life.

Wrestletopians quickly encase Earth within a giant steel cage and invade, pummeling the planet into submission (literally). After knocking a nightly world news anchor unconscious with a steel chair, Wrestletopia's "true" Galactic Champion, Manifest Destiny, gives Rory an ultimatum: travel across the U.S. to do battle with the Wrestletopian overlord on pay-per-view or watch Earth succumb to the big 1-2-3 count- permanently.

By this time a washed up bouncer toiling in obscurity, Rory heeds the call along with his trusted friend and ex-manager, Don Wong and an old flame, Wrestling's "Princess". The trio of mat warriors quickly find themselves at odds however with a megalomaniacal promoter with whom Landell shares bad blood and a group of Wrestletopian insurgents who seek to stop him from appearing at the match at any cost. Can wrestling's "Mr. Untouchable" overcome the forces of darkness AND his own internal demons in time for the most important pay-per-event in Earth's history? As Rory himself would say, "You can bet your last dime on that, brother!"

It don't matter where you go, daddy: Venus, Pluto,
Saturn-"Rock 'n Roll" Rory Landell is the champion
of the universe! 'Cause I can fly anywhere in my
custom chrome-plated rocket ship and there could be a
Martian, fifty-feet tall, with twenty arms - each with
twenty-four inch biceps- and I'd have him laid out on his Martian
back, pinned with the one-two-three count...and with his
last, smelly Martian breath he'd say, "Landell,
you one rude rockin' dude with a baaaaad attitude!"
-- "Rock n' Roll" Rory Landell
